Jordan & Skinner are a multi award-winning theatre company creating vivid physical and visual theatre about the things we care about. For the first time, performer Melanie Jordan and director Caitlin Skinner lead a two day training weekend for professional performers and theatre makers who are interested in devising and physical performance. Over the course of the two days we will share the process Jordan & Skinner have developed in terms of how we explore themes, develop characters and discover images for our work and shape these into stories for the stage. We will also explore our approach to using clown and physical theatre to play with material, to connect with an audience and to create your own distinctive style.

The workshop is open to performers, directors, writers and theatre makers who are working professionally or are in or recently graduated from formal training. If you are not sure if this is you but would like to come along, please get in touch.

To apply for a place please email us by with a paragraph describing your theatre/performance background and why you would like to join the training. For further information or to apply please email:

Accessibility – We want the workshop to be open to as many people as possible so we are happy to talk to you about any access requirements. The workshop will take place in the Loft at Platform which is accessible for wheelchairs and has gender neutral toilets nearby.

Bursary Places – We don’t want cost to be a barrier so we have a number of ‘pay what you can afford’ bursary places available. If you would like to be considered for a bursary place please contact us and just tell us a bit about you and why you would like a bursary place.
